Frequently Asked Questions

AM I ENTITLED TO FINANCIAL COMPENSATION IF I'M INJURED?

YES. There are various types of financial compensation. The law in Oregon divides money compensation into 2 types, economic and noneconomic damages.  Some examples of economic damages are medical expenses, lost wages, diminished value of your car and impaired capacity to earn income in the future. Noneconomic damages are commonly referred to as your “pain and suffering” damages.  There may be other areas as well that can be determined after a discussion about your case.

DOES IT COST MONEY TO MEET WITH YOU?

NO. The initial consultation is free.

HOW DO YOU GET PAID?

I receive payment if I get a recovery for you.  Put another way, I don’t get paid if you don’t get paid.

THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER SEEMS REALLY NICE. THEY WOULDN’T MAKE AN UNFAIR OFFER, WOULD THEY?

YES. They would make you an unfair offer. The adjuster is not your friend even if they are being respectful and friendly to you. The adjuster’s job is to get your claim settled as cheaply and as quickly as possible. They may be trying to settle your claim the day after the accident happens.  The adjuster is trained on how to negotiate claims.  They want to make you feel that you are not really hurt and claim is not worth much.  Many folks leave money on the table or settle their claim for a huge discount.
